The day we visited Shiragawago I was using both my DSLR and my SLR which I had loaded with an Ilford FP4+ B/W film; I usually keep to one camera for a subject but in Shiragawago I could not resist the urge to shoot left and right.
Ponder both images above which were taken from almost exactly the same location and with almost the same focal length. For the life of me, I can't decide which is the better photo. Please use the comments to let me know what you think.

Hmm, that is a hard one. I like both :)
I'm a big fan of B&W so I want to say that one. Maybe add a bit more contrast to it?

I like the color. The B&W version is a bit compressed. The color version works better with the compression.
I prefer the B&W version over the colour version.
Nice photo you have there !

I sway towards the colour.

It is quite difficult decision. I feel that the amount of light area in front of the hut on the B&W one washes out the photo. Perhaps cropping and a bit more contrast would improve it.
The colour photo gives more of a sense of being there. It makes me want to go and explore the hut.
(Stopping by from cre8buzz). I like the black-and-white better. Amazing photography here.
Whether a photo looks better in colour or black-and-white is a subjective judgment; but these days I always take photos in colour. If I want them in black-and-white later, that's a trivial adjustment on the computer.
But, if you take photos on black-and-white film, you're committed: the colour's gone for good and you can't put it back.
like the colour, seems more depth, but what do I know ... only that is what I prefer
I like the color, normally I like black and white, but there is more texture in the color, well done.
I like the black and white because: The subject looks more inviting on the left, as if inviting me in. The color looks as if I am being asked to leave. Possibly it's the balance of the picture and the fact that I read left to right. I think black and white gives much more detail.
i think the B&W picture really captures the essence of the surrounding area.... go for the black one
